The "Green Country 2024" eco-car rally-festival, honoring the birthday of national leader Heydar Aliyev, was successfully held in Baku. Organized by the Azerbaijan Automobile Dealers Association (AADA) with support from the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and the Automobile Federation of Azerbaijan, the event was part of the “Year of Solidarity for the Green World” and a prelude to the upcoming COP29 Conference in Azerbaijan.
The festival featured a symbolic parade of over 30 electric and hybrid vehicles, presented by official importers. The procession commenced at the Heydar Aliyev Center and proceeded through the city streets, culminating at the Absheron Logistics Center in Lokbatan. This facility, the largest intermodal logistics center in Eurasia and the region’s first "green" logistics center, hosted the final event activities. Attendees enjoyed a promotional tour of the center, presentations of the latest vehicles, and an entertaining program.
The festival also included the awarding of diplomas and cash prizes to winners of the "Car of the Future" drawing competition for schoolchildren, organized by AADA. Musical performances by "Dervish Band" and Jeyhun Samadov added to the festive atmosphere.
Looking ahead, AADA announced that the next major event, the "Caspian Motor Show," is scheduled to take place in June.
