Modern cars and beneficial terms of sale...

Azerbaijan Automobile Dealers Association (AADA) held its first "General Meeting" in 2021 Taking into account the existing quarantine rules, the forum was organized online. It should be noted that the agenda and documents to be discussed were prepared a week prior by a working group consisting of members of the AADA Board of Directors, the Control and Inspection Commission group and the Permanent Secretariat. First of all, the work plan of the association for 2021 was approved, its strategy and main goals were defined. Chairman of the Union N.Zarbaliyev said in his introductory speech that the coronavirus pandemic and strict quarantine rules made it impossible to hold a number of events planned for 2020, some plans had to be reconsidered, but nevertheless, a number of measures has been taken to develop the automotive sector of the business, strengthen the organization and attract new members.

Before approving the work plan for this year, it was noted that, undoubtedly, the official car importers also have a serious responsibility to renew and improve the country's car fleet, increase road safety and improve the environmental situation within the implementation of the State Program on Road Safety in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2023, approved by the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev dated December 27, 2018

Today, AADA is a public association of official dealers and distributors representing more than 40 world-famous car brands in our country, as well as local car manufacturers. The mission of the organization is to promote the establishment of a civilized car business in the country, the development of the road transport sector, the formation of an environment that serves the interests of consumers and road users. To fulfill its mission, the association uses international experience to try to benefit our state and society, holds discussions with official bodies and public organizations, investigates existing problems and makes proposals for their solution.

The motto of the association is presented on the home page of AADA's official website: "To import more modern, safe, eco-friendly vehicles and provide customers with the most beneficial terms of sale...". The work plan and strategy approved by the association for the current year completely coincides with this motto. Facilitating the sale of new cars to the public, restricting the import of old and obsolete vehicles, encouraging the purchase of environmentally friendly hybrids and electric cars - all to achieve this, AADA aims to cooperate with relevant government agencies and public associations and use various platforms in order to achieve fruitful discussions.

The conference also agreed on the program for the disposal of old cars, which has been discussed on social networks in recent days. It was noted that AADA studied the experience of different countries in this regard. It is known that the goals of any disposal are: to increase safety in transport, to improve the environmental situation, to develop the local car industry and to renew the car fleet. Utilization can be successful only due to complex measures. First of all, import duties and excises for new cars should be reconsidered, optimal credit conditions should be formed to encourage new car sales. Additionally, all cars should be observed at customs checkpoints in order to avoid the increase in the number of crashed, flooded, etc. damaged vehicles imported into the country. Mass import of cars must be prevented. Without all these points, it is impossible to imagine a recycling program.

In their speeches, the AADA conference participants noted that the achievements of our government in large-scale reforms in all spheres of life, small and medium business development, constructive dialogue between business and government and improving the business environment are welcomed by the entire business community. The automotive sector plays an extremely important role in the country's economy and in almost all spheres of society. In order to achieve sustainable development in this sector, AADA members decided to apply to the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan and a number of relevant agencies with a special package of proposals.
